Terms of use
Last updated 25 June 2026
These terms apply when you use Margo. By signing up, you agree to them. Please read them alongside our Privacy page.
Who can use Margo
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement. You agree to give accurate information about yourself and to keep it up to date. One person, one account.
What Margo does
Margo is a personal matchmaking service that works over Telegram; we use your email address to confirm your identity and for account and billing notices. You correspond with Margo, and when there's someone worth meeting, she makes a private introduction through an anonymous relay. Margo is a way to be introduced — we don't guarantee that you'll be matched, that any introduction will lead anywhere, or any particular outcome.
Membership and billing
- Getting to know Margo and signing up are free. Membership is what lets you open and carry on introductions.
- Membership is a recurring subscription, billed in advance through our payment processor. It renews automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time — see Membership & refunds. Cancelling stops future charges; your membership stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
- We may change pricing for future billing periods; we'll give you notice before any change affects you.
Treating people well
When you use Margo, you agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, deceive, or harm anyone you're introduced to.
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent who you are.
- Use Margo for anything unlawful, for commercial solicitation, or for spam.
- Attempt to identify, contact, or de-anonymise another user outside the relay before details are mutually shared.
- Interfere with, probe, or try to disrupt the service.
Suspending or ending access
To keep the community safe, we may pause, block, or remove an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. You can stop using Margo and delete your data at any time by sending Margo /manage on Telegram, or using the manage link in any email from us.
Your content
What you write stays yours. You give us permission to process and deliver your messages so we can run the service — for example, carrying a message through the relay to the person you're introduced to.
No warranties
Margo is provided "as is." We work hard to run a reliable, private service, but we can't promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free, and we don't make guarantees about the people you may be introduced to. Always use your own judgement when meeting someone new.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Margo will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that can't be limited under the law that applies to you.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the date above and, for material changes, let you know. Continuing to use Margo after a change means you accept the updated terms.
